Revealed: The Ultimate Lead Generation Tool

By: Peter Lawless

Create a Referral Strategy
The strategy that I am referring to is a referral strategy. Most importantly, ask them for a referral! For those of you married or with partners, think back to when you met them. Were you with someone you know, was there a connection to someone you know - or were they complete strangers that you just walked up to?

Most businesses will tell you that they do really well due to word of mouth. How well do they do? Most can't quantify it. In addition very few have implemented any formal process or strategy to ensure a referral system is in place.

A Referral Strategy in Practice
Let me share with you a simple strategy, which was put in place by a service garage. You should strongly consider a variant of this strategy for your own business. The garage owner created a simple card, which outlined in 5 short bullets, why they were a great place to get your car service done.

They gave this form to all people who had just had their car serviced. There were two blank spaces on the form. The first one entitled the person whose name was filled in to a 10% discount on their next car service. The second space was for the person who had just had a service.

If the card was used, that person then got a 10% discount as well. In other words there was an incentive to pass on the referral. In addition, there was also a strong subliminal message to the person being referred. They were being told that not only had the referrer had their car serviced and that they were happy with it, they also were prepared to go back again to get their 10% discount.

Create a Referral Strategy Today:
1. List all of your existing customers and categorize them by niche.
2. Ask yourself, what incentive you can give them to send you leads.
3. Set yourself a target of how many referrals you are looking for from each customer.
4. Do it, and measure it.
5. Once you know what works, and what doesn't - modify your system accordingly.

An opportunity lost, could be an opportunity gained.
There is one other great place to get referrals. And that is from the prospects that don't become customers. Let's assume you lose the sale, for whatever reason. You must remember that there is actually good in all people! When they tell you have lost, be nice and understanding, you may do business again at a later stage. Most importantly, ask them for a referral. The chances are, human nature, will kick in and they can absolve their conscience by giving you a referral.

How to make an RSS Feed - What NOT to do with RSS

Here are some tips on what not to do with RSS feeds.  Let me know what you think and leave a comment below.

What NOT to do with RSS
By: Richard Keir

Everybody is hot on using RSS to increase their traffic, promote their sites and do their marketing. Why?

Well, it's newish - at least within the internet marketing segment. Not as new as it was a year or so ago, of course. Getting significant results is a little harder as the competition increases.

With the profusion of blogs and spam blog-pinging to attract the search engine spiders to index static pages, the utility of this approach has been seriously impaired by unscrupulous overkill.

Pinging every 3 minutes is - even to an idiot - absurd - or at least it should be. Why not just scream, "I AM AN AUTOMATED SEARCH ENGINE SPAM PROGRAM." Lovely footprint, very hard for even a seriously brain-damaged bot to identify.

Still there are a lot of sites with RSS feeds that are real feeds being produced as pages change and new content is added. So, yes, RSS feeds still work. Maybe not as fast and maybe they are less powerful than they were, but RSS remains a valid and increasingly necessary part of site promotion.

Techniques do get abused and the early rapid response tends to decline as a result. If people were a little clearer about what they're doing and why and how it all works, the frenzied search for new approaches could, perhaps, be a little less daunting. And if the quick buck artists were less successful at misleading people into doing things that are bad for everybody in the long run, then . . . but that's how it is, was, and apparently will be forever more.

One thing about a real feed - it's for more than getting bots to index your pages. If that's all you want then you can stop reading here.

For the remaining readers (if any), consider the single most critical element of any marketing or website promotion effort. You can have the most magnificent site, the greatest ever-changing content, beautiful and valid feeds in all formats -- and very little in the way of traffic. Unlike the search engines who have all those lovely spiders we are so hot to gain the attention of - most blog/RSS search engines and directories do not send out bots in search of RSS feeds.

Nope. You have got to submit to them. I know. I've done the smart thing - submit to a bunch - and the incredibly unspeakably stupid thing - letting the submissions slide because, frankly, it's a horrible boring tedious and extremely boring (did, I mention how boring it is?) job. That's not a very pretty admission, but there you are. I have a limited ability to tolerate severe boredom - even when I know I'm hurting myself.

And if you don't do the submissions, you won't get the traffic you could have. And that means fewer conversions, sales, opt-ins or whatever it is your site is about.

Ah, but there are answers to this problem. RSS submission services exist and so do RSS submission tools. In fact here's a new (still in beta) service that allows you to submit to 17 blog/RSS search engines - with more promised - for free. It's called FeedShot and you can find it at www.feedshot.com.

Now with FeedShot you need to enter each feed individually. However, with a tool like RSS Submitter you can enter from 3 (in the free evaluation version) feeds to an unlimited number in the SEO version. RSS Submitter then submits automatically to over 70 blog and RSS search directories and can also be used to do additional manual submissions with auto-form filling.

This tool is the purest gold for the serious RSS feed marketer. It works, it's easy to use and it saves you incredible amounts of time - and eliminates that nasty boring tedious repetitive work. Check it out and download a free evaluation copy through www.MarketingWithRSS.com/rss-submitter/

Just to be clear here you should realize that you can create and use RSS feeds without ever using any of the ping sites. RSS feed updates are noted by RSS readers/aggregators which check feeds for new content either on demand or on a schedule. RSS/blog search directories also check on a regular basis. Users find your feed through these directories. Again, if you want visitors, then no matter how you do it, you've got to submit.

Obviously, if your feed is produced by a blog, you'll want to notify ping sites when your content is updated. But you still need to submit the feeds. And you can also submit your blog URL to a whole host of pure blog directories, but that's a different subject.

The people who use RSS readers/aggregators in addition to or in place of a browser are the real target group for RSS marketing. When you consider how and what you want to market with RSS, keep in mind that this group tends to still be made up of relatively affluent, early adopters with some technical sophistication, a taste for new technology, a low boredom threshold and a keen appreciation of the value of their time. And don't forget to submit.

Want to know how to go viral with a Facebook post?

So you want to go viral on Facebook?  Check out this video. 46,852 views says it all!
So you want to go viral. It could be for future fame, financial gain, or because you really believe in your message.
All three desires are worth their own merit and can be the driving force behind your viral Facebook post. And all three can be a reality for you if you follow these tips!
Read on to figure out how to use Facebook to your advantage and get your name or message out to the masses.
1. Creating a Viral Facebook Post: The Hook
You can’t have a viral Facebook post without a topic. The topic and how it’s worded is going to be the “hook” that catches your readers. If the information is not of interest to them, they will keep on scrolling, looking for something better.
The title of your post, or the linked image, will be the first thing your audience sees and notices. Creativity, humor, or shock value matter.
The reader’s first taste of the article or post should be relevant to them and give them a taste of what they may be in for when they begin to read. Many people are not going to become engaged in an article that doesn’t interest them in some way. This means they likely won’t share it, hindering the likelihood of a viral post.
2. Images Are Your Friend
Images and infographics are also another great tool. Something visually pleasing and related to your article will entice the reader to share this great article or piece of information they’ve found.

Using visually pleasing components in your post will allow for the reader to remember what you say and take away some cool statistics or information. When information is paired with memorable images, the likelihood of the reader retaining the facts increases.
When posting to your own page, Facebook covers are equally important. These photos will draw the eye into your page and make people curious as to what you have to say.
3. Be Clear and Concise
Regardless of what age your main audience is, it’s no secret that the age of computers and smartphones has shortened the attention span of most readers.
When composing a post that you want to be shared over and over again, keep this in mind. Unless doing in-depth research, people are not going to be engaged in an extremely lengthy article.
They want facts and bullet points, and easy to read information. Don’t dumb it down too much, but keep in mind the vocabulary you use, as well as the topic at hand.
4. Ask and You’ll Receive
If you find that you’re still having a hard time getting your information or post out there to the masses, it might be time too take a look at social media influencers.
There are a couple ways to go about using these accounts that have tons of followers, but the easiest two are going to be joining in relevant conversations, or flat out asking for a mention of a quote.
Just being able to associate your post with this type of account should drive traffic and shares.
The Line & Sinker
Overall, creating a viral Facebook post isn’t incredibly hard. But it does require a good bit of thought and effort.
The other component is somewhat luck of the draw, but if you include these tips in your next attempt to go viral, you may just have some of that good luck.

Why you need an Autoresponder?

This is a great article by Erving Salgado about what an autoresponder is and why your business needs one.  If you would like to know more my next post will look at the top 10 autoresponders on the market.

Whether you are a Blogger, Internet Marketer or a Business, you need an autoresponder.
What is an Autoresponder?
<a style="background-color:black;color:white;text-decoration:none;padding:4px 6px;font-family:-apple-system,
First let me define what an Autoresponder is. I use Trafficwave to handle my autoresponder service.

What this does is allows me to place a form on my site, blog or landing pages that asks a visitor to give me at least their name and email.
An autoresponder is an email or a series of emails that are automatically sent when triggered. For example, you could set up an autoresponder to automatically send follow-up messages to new subscribers, you can set it up to send an email every day or every two days, once a week, etc.
You can even use them for regular newsletters, online courses, and birthdays.
Autoresponders save time by allowing you to create all the emails beforehand, with the triggers saving you from manual sending. Just compose your emails, select a trigger, and sit back to let the system do the rest.

Benefits of an Autoresponder
<a style="background-color:black;color:white;text-decoration:none;padding:4px 6px;font-family:-apple-system,
The main benefit to using an autoresponder is connected to the fact that the majority of people need to be told about a product seven times before they buy it.
The autoresponder allows you to send whatever quantity of emails you want to set up.
How many people visit your site every month? A few thousands or more?
If you are not collecting the information of a portion of these visitors, you are wasting the traffic to your website and leaving a bunch of money on the table.
Email is personal and is a great tool to be used to build up relationship with your reader.
You can personalize your email message with their name, country or any other information you collected. This will help to build rapport with your subscribers.
With an Autoresponder, you will be able to communicate with your readers anytime you want in relation to any topic.  For example, if you come across a great tool/information you can broadcast an email with a few sentences to ask them to check out the tool/information. This way, you will save up lots of your time and your subscribers will thank you for your email.

You can monetize your Website with an Autoresponder by promoting affiliate offers, new programs etc. to your subscribers. That is why the old saying “The Money is in the List” is true.

When you know what your subscribers want, all you need is to find it and give it to them. To help them solve their problems.
